Hello…
I’ve been painting and drawing all my life and since retiring have been able to devote more time to it. Having studied at the Cheltenham School of Fine Art and with the portrait painter Lindy Allfrey, my focus is primarily portraits. Although I love sketching and oil pastel, I’ve chosen to concentrate on oil painting because I love the richness and flexibility of oils.
I very much enjoy painting people. However, after painting portraits of my own dogs I was commisioned to paint other family pets. I really enjoy catching the personality of a much-loved pet.
A few years ago family, friends and friends-of-friends started asking me if I would paint for them, so I decided to offer commissions – and here we are. Loving every minute of it!
After living in lots of different parts of the UK I retired to Lancashire – where I grew up – and now live by the sea on the west coast. The light is fantastic and I start most days with a brisk dog walk before going into the studio to paint.
